I've noticed a recurring phenomenon in meetings: when I share an experience, someone often echoes my words while commenting on it. Though they’re nearly repeating me, hearing my own thoughts in their tone and gestures makes me feel them more deeply and understand them better, as if I've been changed by the repetition. This impact, however, wouldn’t show up in a transcript, which would only capture the words, not the emotional layer. Moments like these highlight the importance of emotions in meetings; without emotional responses, I feel conversations lose a vital sense of life and connection.
